Three UNI Players Named To MVC Scholar Teams Three members of the University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball team have earned places on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete teams, the league announced Tuesday. Jacqui Kalin was a first-team selection, Lizzie Boeck was named to the second team, and Erin Brocka was an honorable mention selection. Kalin leads UNI and ranks third in the MVC with 15.6 points per game. The sophomore has a 4.0 GPA in movement and exercise science. Boeck averages 11.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for UNI this season, and she holds a team-high 48.2 shooting percentage. The junior holds a 3.69 GPA in family services. Brocka leads the Panthers with 7.9 rebounds per game. The junior has a 3.49 GPA in movement and exercise science. A total of 30 Valley student-athletes met the nomination criteria for scholar-athlete honors in 2010.
