One thousand Ping Pong balls are on a mission to raise scholarship money for area high school students. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Dollars for Scholars is hosting the third annual Ping Pong Splash for Scholarship Cash on Wednesday May 21st at the Cedar Falls Aquatic Center. At 6:30pm, 1,000 balls will be sent down the waterslide and race one and half laps around the lazy river. The first ball to cross the finish line will earn the lucky winner $250in cash. A new exhibition entitled "20 years/20 stories" is open to the public at the Waterloo Center for the Arts through May 25th. On loan from the Pearson Lakes Art Center, this exhibition features fine art photographer David Thoreson's 20 years experience. On Sunday May 18th, Camp Courageous of Iowa will hold the 21st annual "Cruisin' for Camp Courageous" from 10am to 4pm. This is one of Iowa's largest charity Car Shows and features hundreds of show cars, racecars, and trucks. This is a family event with a large silent and live auction, kid's games, food, music and huge craft show. Admission is $5 for adults. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Camp Courageous of Iowa ia a year-round camp for individuals with special needs and is run on donations, without government assistance, formal sponsorhip or paid fundraisers.
