Mrs. Bailey is a part of our life in many ways. in past years she accompanied my husband and I to school meetings to address issues that my son was having at school. She was in our corner. Last year, when our son was in 6th grade, Mrs. Bailey was instrumental in getting 6th graders to compete in "Future Problem Solvers" which they reached the international level of competition for the first time in GR School history. She takes time away from her own personal time to attend athletic events to watch my son and other students. She heads up the TAG program in our schools, which my son has been involved in since he was in 1st or 2nd grade. She recently helped our son, now in 7th grade, to get him ready to sit for the ACT; which he did well in AND she showed up at UNI to be present when our son was finished with the test. She goes above and beyond what she is required to do to be a special role-model and mentor for children. Mrs. Bailey sets the standards quite high for teachers everywhere. We have really appreciated her and my son has certainly benefited from having her in his life throughout his academic career thus far. I feel she would be an excellent teacher of the week who deserves all the praise and gifts other teachers are getting.
